New menu book

The menu has been updated to a book type.

We started using this menu in a hurry the day before we opened, thinking, "This will do for now...", and it has remained that way for over five years.
I worked hard on printing during my day off. I've renewed it into a new book-type product.

To be honest, the menu itself was only decided two or three days before the opening and is still tentative.

The main reason for the change was the need to cater to foreign tourists.
Perhaps due to the influence of Instagram, we are seeing an increase in customers from overseas. Every time someone asks, "Do you have an English menu?", my stomach aches worsen.

We sometimes receive referrals from guesthouses, and the number of tourists will probably continue to increase, so we feel we need to respond to them.

Other things to consider include Wi-Fi and payment methods.
Since it doesn't look good to have too many displays in the store, we decided to summarize them all in a menu.

There isn't enough space on a single sheet, so I made it into a book type.

Since you can't tell the top from the bottom just by looking at the outside, I'd like to see some improvements made to the cover, but it looks like that will be a while off.
Maybe I'll give up eventually.

"Bunny curry makes me think it contains rabbit meat."

The English part was corrected

I quickly created it in Illustrator and used Google Translate for the English parts.
After creating a tentative menu, we asked customers how they wanted to express it, and finally had a customer who was fluent in English correct it.
The checks were so detailed that I almost felt like I was asking for too much during my visit... I'm very grateful for that.
I feel blessed to be in an environment where there are people who are willing to help me in many ways.

The comment that really got to me was, "Bunny curry makes you think it contains rabbit meat." Yeah... well, that's true.

Thanks to you, I think we've created a classic and great menu that is perfect for a traditional coffee shop.

(The only thing that has changed is the structure; the content remains the same. There are no new menus, and the content will remain provisional.)

We plan to make corrections while checking usability.

Since yesterday, we have been handing out menus to customers to check how easy they are to use.

There were many customers who always had their order decided without us handing them a menu, and many customers who had already decided what they wanted and only checked the page of the menu they wanted.
As a result, most customers don't even look at the menu.
Then, while I was using it, I discovered a typo and had to redo some parts.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make improvements as necessary.

Not only the menu, but also the goods and the store

In the second half of the article, we also included information about the things that we value as a store.
I hope that even just one person out of 100 will be able to get a glimpse of what we're doing.
