After thinking about what we could do to have fun with our customers this year, we decided to hold an event.

It seems that the deadline for opening a stall in Showacho and Momogaike is coming up soon.

I'm sure some of you are aware of this, as I've changed my profile picture and made general announcements on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
On Saturday, April 4th (Showa Day), Usagi and I will be holding an event at our store.

The event itself is over three years old.
We've set up stalls at outdoor events and held events inside the store, but this is the first time that Usagi and I have been the main organizers of an event.
If you ask me if I'll do it again, I might not. It depends on the situation.
The reason we are announcing this early, even though the details have not yet been decided, is to ensure that we do not back out.

So...

This time, I'd like to talk about "Why did I suddenly decide to hold an event?" I'm not the type of person who can just do things on impulse, so the reason is very important.
I don't want people to think that Usaboku-san has suddenly started doing strange things and gone crazy...

How do you interact with customers and the community?

Immersed in Showa-cho. For the past three years, I've been taking a break from the shop and wandering around the area.
I report on events, visit shops that I don't normally get to say hello to, and chat with customers I see along the way.
I work in the store and don't really talk much, so I thought it would be nice to be able to interact with people at an event and show my true colors... I wandered around with some original novelty items in hand.

We have chosen to move in this way after carefully considering our role in the local community and how we interact with our customers.
Although we're not setting up a stall, I thought it might be a good way to participate in the event.

This year's "Idipuri Showacho" will not be holding the Buy Local Market

On Immerse yourself in Showa Town Day, the "Showa Town Buy Local Market" was held at Momogaike Park.
Many of the stores I know were there, and we often had the same customers, so since the event began four years ago, I've been introducing it to customers as the main attraction on the day. Usagi and I, my wife and I, also spent about half a day being by local. We also saw many customers at the venue.

However, starting this year, the Buy Local Market will no longer be held on Showacho Day (it will be held in October this year).
I've heard stories like that, so I'm wondering what to do this year.

We don't know how the shops participating in Buy Local will be doing this year, and it's still unclear what events will be held in other locations.
It's hard to imagine where our regular customers should go and what they should enjoy.

Of course, there are plenty of fun events, such as rakugo, pro wrestling, and live music, and I think that customers can enjoy each one. However, when it comes to our customers, we are currently unable to provide information like "You just need to go to this."
However, they are probably looking forward to the "Immerse yourself in Showa Town" event itself.

Given the situation, we thought it would be better to create a place that we could go to ourselves, so we decided to plan this.

That's how it happened.

Events are an extension of regular business

This was an event that we decided to hold, with our regular customers in mind, and we thought about how we could make it enjoyable for them.
So, it may be difficult to convey to people who are visiting for the first time on the day, but we hope to make it something that will interest our regular customers.

Whether it goes well or not, I hope it will give customers something to talk about after the event is over.
