1. Roasted to order, the experience of freshly roasted coffee

Before we tried freshly roasted coffee for the first time, Usagi and I actually didn't like coffee that much, and we couldn't even drink it black. Instead, we drank tea and cafe latte.

I started to be able to drink it after I started drinking freshly roasted coffee at a coffee shop attached to a facility for disabled people where the owner worked. I was in an environment where I had to drink it black. But when I tried it, I was surprised by the refreshing taste of freshly roasted coffee. I was able to drink coffee after experiencing the freshness of freshly roasted coffee.

By roasting and delivering freshly roasted coffee beans after receiving your order, we hope to help many people experience the excitement of tasting delicious coffee for the first time.

2. A bridge of kindness that connects welfare and society

Usagi and I have both worked at a facility for people with disabilities, so even after opening our shop we wanted to continue to connect with people with disabilities.

We hope that by selling products made at facilities, we can help ensure income security and social recognition for people with disabilities. We work with NPOs and manufacturing facilities that handle products from welfare facilities. We focus mainly on package design, so that the products are accepted as good products in general, rather than being seen as products from welfare facilities. We believe that our store has the role of acting as a bridge between welfare facilities and society. In addition to our own store, we also help with product packaging at welfare facilities.

3. Rooted in this town and living together with the community

When we opened our cafe, we moved to a town called Showa-cho in Abeno. We wanted to develop our shop in this area. We believe that both our shop and ourselves are necessary to this area, and we hope to become a presence that is needed by it.

We also support the "Showa Town Buy Local" initiative, which aims to revitalize the area by encouraging local residents to learn about and actively use good local shops, and we are also actively spreading local information on social media.

We also support local cat rescue volunteers. Usagi to Boku collects donations for these activities and posts information about the volunteers' activities on social media.

4. A space that can be enjoyed with all five senses

In order to truly relax our customers, we value not only the taste and aroma of the coffee, but also the atmosphere of the row houses that catches your eye and the music that you hear. The background music played in the store is original music created to match the atmosphere of the store. It is also available on various music services, so please feel free to use it to relax at home.

Owner Introduction

Owner of Usagi and Me: Takakiyo Uwaguchi

Nice to meet you. I'm Ueguchi, the owner of "Usagi to Boku".
After working in the welfare field for many years, the couple was impressed by the freshly roasted coffee they encountered at a welfare facility that roasted its own coffee, and so they started this cafe.

After working in employment support for people with disabilities and as a contract employee at an independent administrative institution and Hello Work, she opened a cafe with her husband. She is a former career counselor, social worker, and mental health and welfare worker.
The shop owner designs and designs the original products himself. I like small animals, wine, beauty, camping, and visiting deserted tourist spots. I was born on March 3th, and I'm a Pisces. I'm cool-toned and have a natural bone structure.
