The summer solstice.
I went to eat curry, joining the new trend of eating curry on the summer solstice.
I visited Magalidatta, which has just opened along Minami-ko Street in Minamitanabe.
This is a shop that I've been connected with on Twitter since before they moved.
It's about an 8-minute walk from both Nishitanabe Station and Minamitanabe Station.
It's about a 20 minute walk from Usagi and me.
It was a rainy weekday during the rainy season, but there was a line of about 10 people before the store even opened.
The restaurant was full as soon as it opened. After that, several people were still waiting to get in, and the restaurant was sold out within an hour of opening.
It seems that they have fans from the time when they were operating in rented space in Joto Ward, and they seem to be very popular.
The owner was a lovely blonde with a rock style. Hard rock music was playing inside the bar.
The two types of curry available that day were "sour seaweed curry with octopus and vegetables" and "coconut chicken curry."
Both my husband and I ordered a share.
You can also order additional nori art, which will include a message made out of nori seaweed on top of your ham.
We were so excited that we both ordered it.
Mrs. Ham's message was:
These are quite negative words that suit the lady perfectly.
The owner sent this message.
Although I am a bit anxious, I am also somewhat positive.
Geshi Touji and othersNemo AlkamoA curry restaurant called San is also scheduled to open.
The Minamitanabe area seems to be bustling with curry restaurants.
