The old building was demolished

An old building near the store was being demolished.
I sneaked a peek inside the blue tarp, and while I was looking around, I wondered if there were any attractive (to us) things like window glass or wood.
However, values vary from person to person. I guess I didn't feel anything for people who had no interest in me at all. Within a few days, there was no trace of it.

Listening to the sound of heavy machinery operating in the humid heat reminds me of the time just four years ago when construction of the store began.

Luckily, the contractor who came to work on Usagi and me shared our values, and they used old electrical parts, door panels, and glass doors that they found under the floorboards, saying things like, "Wouldn't this be cool?"
I think that if we hadn't been able to share that, the atmosphere of the store would probably have been different.

For example, something like this...

Before coming here, we lived in a newly built apartment building and never thought about doing business in a tenement house or wooden building.
However, once you actually live there, although there are some inconveniences, the comfort, air, calmness, and aged charm that you can't get in an apartment are all really good, and even if you were to move somewhere else next time, you wouldn't want to go back to an apartment.
It feels like a life without any suffocation.
This not only affects the atmosphere of the store, but probably also our own atmosphere.

However, it's only because we're a certain age and have moved from a nice apartment that we feel it has value and appeal.

For people who have lived there since they were old enough to understand, it might seem old-fashioned or unsophisticated, or inferior to other places.

When we just go about our lives, the things around us start to seem normal, and we no longer feel anything, or conversely, we start to see them as negative.
However, if you take a moment to stop and carefully spotlight each item, or look at them from a different perspective, you will realize that they are actually quite valuable.

It's been almost four years since I moved here.

As everyday life begins to feel ordinary and the novelty fades, I think it's important to stop and reaffirm the value of things.

I thought about this while looking at the construction site.

The buildings, the shops, the people...
