The manga that got me hooked on wine and the realization I had about coffee

Chateau Montpela, which appears in Volume 1 of Drops of God

Speaking of Kami no Shizuku, this wine has me wanting to drink it again after a long time.
The serialization of "Kaitou Levain" ended recently, but I'm looking forward to the final chapter of Kami no Shizuku, which will start serialization soon.

Today I'd like to talk a little bit about manga...

As those of you who know may already know, Usaboku and his wife love wine.
It was wine that got me hooked on coffee.
Recently, I've been drinking cheap wine from a glass bought at the local Yamaya store, just to be happy if I can drink. Well, to put it in a positive way, it's "bar-style."
However, in the past, depending on the wine, I would transfer it to a decanter or change the glass.

What got the Usaboku couple hooked on wine was Beaujolais and the manga Kami no Shizuku.

I was particularly shocked by Chateau Montpela, which appears in this first volume.
Although it is a wine in the 2000 yen range, it is a great value wine that is comparable to wines priced at around XNUMX yen.

But the most impactful moment was when the main character took a sip of wine."Wow! This wine is the Queen of Rock Band!"That's what he said.
It's like he's hallucinating the live concert while drinking. It makes me laugh a little mockingly, but it's a really amazing way of expressing it.

I'd like to drink this...

So, after reading it, I immediately bought it online and have had Monpera several times since then, but unfortunately, Queen has never appeared in it.
Before that, I didn't know much about Queen and had never listened to any of their songs.
Well, even if I listen to it, it probably won't come out, and if it does come out from now on, it might only be next to my pillow.

This Montpela wine comes from the Côte de Beaune region of the Bordeaux region of France.
This chateau is owned by the Despagne family and is made primarily from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

After I started drinking wine for a while, I was able to imagine the taste to some extent based on the country, region of origin, variety, and year, but when I first started drinking, I couldn't really tell the difference between Cabernet and Merlot.

Rather than knowing the origin or variety, knowing that it's from the rock band Queen makes a big impact and is easier to remember. And more than anything, it makes you want to drink it.
Maybe other people feel the same way.

The same goes for coffee.

We take it for granted that we write information such as the country of origin, place of origin, farm, variety, refining method, degree of roasting, and flavor characteristics on our POPs, but we wonder if we can come up with catchy expressions that are easier to understand and make people want to drink the coffee.

The other day, Peak Roast Coffee posted on Facebook that they saw a female customer skipping away as she left, and wrote, "We sell coffee that makes you want to skip."

When I saw it, I thought, "Oh, so that's what it's like."

If they say it's coffee that makes you want to skip when you leave the store, I'd like to drink it normally.
However, for example, if you were to say "Ethiopia Yirgacheffe G-1 Natural Light Roast," only people who have tried it would want to buy it.

It's interesting to learn about the origins and roasting of coffee, but each person has their own level of understanding.
It's not like I only work with coffee enthusiasts.

That's the story.

Of course, we need to improve our knowledge and skills about coffee, but rather than just telling our customers what we know, we need to think about how to translate it into something that's easy to understand.

And not just as a taste, but as a more experiential sensation, like "skip..."
This will probably leave a bigger impression when you drink it, and I think it's also a good introduction to sake.

For Usagi and me, coffee isn't something serious, it's just something that adds color to our daily lives.

I hope to continue studying and be able to express myself in a way that really stands out in everyday life... That's what I hope to achieve.
