A menu item I've always been curious about at a local takoyaki shop

Talk about a local shop.

Although I have received occasional gifts from customers, I have never actually visited Takoyaki Yashiki, a shop located along Abiko-suji.
It is located a 2-3 minute walk from Usagi to Boku.

As you can probably guess from the name of the shop, the owner is a relative of a famous singer.

Apparently they started operating as an izakaya in the latter half of July, and are open until 23pm.
I was recommended by a customer and visited for the first time the other day.

Actually, there was a menu item that I've been wanting to try ever since I saw Cafe Smile's blog...

Here it is.

Takoyaki bowl

Takoyaki bowl.

It's a common joke on TV that people from the Kansai region eat rice with okonomiyaki as a side dish, but it seems like takoyaki and rice isn't as common.

Even if you search online, not much comes up.
Even though they are on the menu, most of them are just added as toppings.

Yashiki's is unique in that it's covered in eggs.
It's like a takoyaki version of oyakodon...

Quite a rare menu.
I felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction, as if I was experiencing the core of Osaka.

Other menu items such as frankfurters and chilled tofu are also reasonably priced, starting at 100 yen.
It was busy even close to closing time.

I would also like to try the weekday-only lunch.
