Yesterday, there was a heavy rain around 3am, and for the first time in a while, there was a serious leak...
It was an exciting time moving the container while staring at the falling rainwater. Even after the rain calmed down, I lay there listening to the sound of the rain hitting the tin roof.
It's a rainy season, and it looks like we'll be busy dealing with the rain more and more from now on.
The hardest thing is not being able to sleep. I hope it doesn't rain in the middle of the night.
The restaurant in my neighborhood is closing this weekend...
My husband and I heard that the izakaya in our neighborhood was closing this week, so we went there for dinner.
Before Usagi and I moved to Showa-cho, this was the first restaurant we visited when we were passing by while our shop was undergoing construction.
Although we are almost the same age, he has a much longer history in the restaurant business, so he has been very helpful and taught us a lot of his know-how. We have also purchased many items based on his advice. It is a restaurant that both my husband and I have a special attachment to.
I believe that he will be able to make full use of his career experience and demonstrate his abilities to the fullest in his new environment.
Although it's a different genre, it's really sad to hear that a restaurant is closing.
Every time I receive new information, I find myself wondering if our store will close, although we don't know when, and I find myself worrying about it.
The appearance and value of a city also change.
According to the owner of a nearby Spanish bar, eight stores have closed in the Showa-cho area this year. He said there's been a rush of store closures.
I haven't looked into how it compares to last year, but now that you mention it, it does seem like a lot. I think this trend will continue to grow, even if it's not limited to Showa-cho.
I'm sure new stores will soon fill the vacant stores and the area will gradually change.
I think our store exists as one element, but I also believe that as stores come and go, the value of the area also changes gradually.
I feel like chain stores will be entering the market, but I don't like the atmosphere of having lots of big signs in front of the station because it looks uncool.
I hope that Showa-cho will continue to be a vibrant area with many unique small shops.
That's what I think.
