yesterday's articleSo, Usagi and I both value not pushing ourselves too hard at work...that's what I mentioned a little bit.
The content may seem like it would make you think, "Don't take your job lightly," but I think a surprising number of people were able to relate to it.

This is a story from a while ago, but...

If it's not working, try changing the system first.

The Usaboku couple have been working with people with disabilities in welfare facilities and other places for a long time.
When I look at them, I see that each and every one of them is "working as hard as they can." Their productivity may be lower than that of the average person, but they are doing their best in their own way.
Therefore, it is wrong to push people beyond their capabilities just because they are less productive. I think this can lead to a violation of the dignity of individuals as coworkers.
We will fully support any thoughts you may have about "I want to do more like this" or "I want to be able to do more" as you work.

However, if you feel that your work is not going as well as you expected, or that you are not making progress, the first thing to do is to try changing the way you do things, your way of thinking, your environment, and the systems you use.

I feel that the experiences and ways of thinking we gained at this welfare facility are connected to the approach we take in our work.

Everyone is doing their best, so we should first acknowledge that.

Everyone is working hard at their jobs.
However, I think this is the same for everyone, regardless of whether they have a disability or not.

Even though you and the people around you are all working hard, when you hit a dead end at work, instead of acknowledging or affirming your current efforts, you focus only on your weaknesses and try to push yourself even harder. On top of that, you end up feeling depressed...
I feel like that's the situation that often occurs.

I think it would be fine to start with, "I'm OK, You're OK."

What you need to do to avoid overdoing it is to accept yourself as you are now

We are all precious and valuable people, with our good and bad points, our abilities and weaknesses. If we can accept ourselves as we are, we will feel more at ease without comparing ourselves to others.

Personally, I think the ability to give up or change your attitude in a positive way is very important.

I often use the phrase "don't push yourself too hard," but that doesn't mean I think it's okay to maintain the status quo. Rather, I think it's best to look at yourself and the situation you're in with an open mind, and gradually move closer to your ideal situation.

That's what I think.

See you soon.
