Last night, I went to a collaborative event with the Spanish bar Risa Lisa, held at Matsumushi's cafe "DJANGO." It was so crowded that people were spilling out the door. The staff and customers were close to each other, creating a lively, united atmosphere.
It seems like the synergy between the two sides was even greater than I had imagined. I think both the store and the customers discovered something new.
In a previous blog post, I wrote that for our store, events are "a spice in the continuity." They are based on our daily business, and they add a little excitement and give us an opportunity to get to know our customers better.
There are probably many different ways to position an event, but for us, that's really the image it has.
I think the same is true for Django and Lisa Lisa, who organized this event.
However, when it comes to events at individual stores or bar events, even if you lump all the local stores together, "individual points are still just points." This time, the significance of "collaborating" rather than holding the event at one store or as a joint store was great, and I think that by connecting the individual points, we were able to create new charm and value for the town.
It's not like, "I like this shop, I like that shop too..." but rather a sense of fulfillment in being in this town. "Showa-cho is great..." I think this was the trigger that made people feel that way.
I also thought that there must be plenty of other materials lying around that would help people experience the charm of this region even more.
Maybe we'll see more collaborations like this in the future.
It might be a little fun to imagine...
