Last week, we were only open to sell coffee beans, so today, when we reopened as a cafe, it was as busy as a holiday. I'm sorry that some customers were unable to come in.
When I write on my blog, I often use expressions like "last week" and "this week," but the other day after I wrote that "the cafe will be closed this week," I realized something. I was writing based on my own feelings, but my perception of the week is different from that of the average person...
We are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so for us, the week starts on Thursday and ends on Monday. We occasionally write "We've closed for the week" at the beginning of articles, but that's Monday. For most people, though, that's the beginning of the week.
I've been writing like this for the three years since I opened my shop, but I feel like it could be misleading.
Apparently some people actually thought it was a holiday.
In the future, I will either avoid vague expressions or write disclaimers and be more specific, such as "from XX day" or "until XX day." This incident made me reflect on myself a little.
So, we're also running a cafe this week.
