[Notice] Price change announcement April 2022

This articleApprox. 2 hoursYou can read at.

As the weather gets warmer, we've started leaving the entrance door open more often during business hours, allowing a pleasant breeze to come into the store.
This is a personal matter, but I think I've developed hay fever this year.

Regarding the recent increase in purchasing prices

I hadn't looked closely at the delivery note, but I was surprised to see that the purchase price of some coffee beans had already increased by about 3% as of last year.
As you're probably aware, it's been in the news a lot since before spring, but there's been a flurry of price hikes lately. Not only coffee beans, but also wheat, cheese, meat, and everything else we use in our store have gone up in price. High oil prices affect the costs of production and transportation, so I guess it's inevitable, but it's still pretty tough to run a business.
Prices have generally gone up by nearly 20%, and coffee beans have gone up by 40%. Every week, we receive notices of price increases from our suppliers.
Utility bills also skyrocketed.

However, this is still just a remnant of last year's events.
I think the effects of the weak yen and the war between Russia and Ukraine will become more serious from now on, so I think price increases will continue into the summer and autumn.
It's probably best to be prepared for about three years.

To be honest, this situation is worse than the coronavirus.

Regarding store price changes

So ...

Starting April 4th, we will be changing the prices of coffee beans and in-store food and drink.

Not all prices are going up, but most are.
As a shop, we feel like we've been trying to keep prices down up until now, but now the price is finally paying off. We need to be more careful and calculate things carefully.

The major changes are:

The set menu for in-store dining will change from "choosing a drink from a set menu" to "pairing your favorite drink with a food set." As we are a coffee-focused shop, we want to return to a mindset where drinks are the main focus.

So, we will continue to monitor the situation and move forward, and there will probably be some hectic changes, but we appreciate your understanding.
